Scholarship Announcement:
Scholarships from the American Ground Water Trust for Ground Water Science Students Entering College in the Fall of 2013
Dear “Ground Water Science Teacher”:
As a past participant in the American Ground Water Trust’s Ground Water Institute for Teachers outreach program, you are aware of the Trust’s mission to increase the awareness of citizens about the value of ground water and how to protect the resource. You understand the important role that scientists play in this process through the implementation of good scientific methods to study the resource followed by the interpretation and reporting of the results to the public in an understandable and relevant format. The Trust administers three scholarships that help young scientists, who are interested in ground water-related college majors, attend the freshman year of college.
The American Ground Water Trust will award up to $7,000 in scholarship money through three merit-based scholarship programs this year:
1) Amtrol Inc. Scholarship (Two)
2) Baroid Scholarship
3) Thomas M. Stetson Scholarship
Submission of one application will qualify the applicant for consideration for all four scholarships.
Application forms and more information about the scholarships is available for download at the Trust Scholarship webpage. Please pass this email on to a High School Senior and/ or colleague who can identify a potential candidate for these awards.
The application deadline is July 1, 2013.
We hope you will encourage an exceptional science student graduating this spring from high school and attending college this fall to apply for these awards.
Sincerely,
Garret W. Graaskamp, P.G.
